CYCLING

Both Waverley & Balmoral can offer a different day out for cyclists. Whether its a single journey by ship and a leisurely cycle back or a using the ship as a means of transport for your bike outing - we can accommodate your needs. You can take your bike on board for a small charge or hire bikes at certain destinations we sail to.

The National Cycle Network is a magnificent network of cycle paths passing throughout the United Kingdom and linking the whole country with 10,000 miles of traffic free routes, quiet lanes and traffic calmed city streets to form a comprehensive cycling network right across the country. Visit their website and send off for a free information pack and discover great places to go cycling this summer.

GLASGOW & CLYDE COAST (Waverley sails July & August)

Millport (Isle of Cumbrae) - Tues & Thursdays
A popular pastime for those more adventurous passengers is cycling around Millport and stopping off half way for an ice-cream!

Rothesay (Isle of Bute) - Tues, Thurs, Sat & Sundays
Rothesay Bay to Scalpsie Bay. This 11 mile route takes in the stunning scenery of the Isle of Bute, right from the main ferry port at Rothesay, around Loch Fad to the beautiful Scalpsie Bay, and back to Rothesay. There is also a shorter route taking in Loch Fad only see cycling scotland for more details and a map.


SOUTH COAST (Waverley sails Sept 3 until 23 & Oct 12)

Isle of Wight
There is the famous Tennyson Trail with stunning views of the Island Coast and to the mainland over the Solent.
