Can I purchase a ticket on board the boat on the day I want to sail? Tickets can be purchased onboard both vessels on the day of sail but customers are reminded these are subject to availability. To be sure of your tickets - book in advance.
What disabled/wheelchair facilities do you have onboard? For safety purposes the gangways leading onto the ships are ridged and therefore wheelchair passengers, if they can't walk across, will have to be carried. Our Crew are fully trained and happy to assist wheelchair & less-agile passengers to negotiate the different areas of the vessels. As both ships are Historic Passenger Vessels, there are relatively steep stairs leading between the different decks. Please ask for any help you may require. Please note that due to safe manual handling regulations we are unable to carry electric wheelchairs or motor scooters. We can generally only accommodate 5 wheelchairs at any one time. Both Waverley & Balmoral have a disabled toilet facility - Waverley's is located on the promenade deck and Balmoral`s is on the main deck. Whilst we welcome disabled passengers aboard the ships not all ports and piers have suitable access. Please call in advance if there are any queries.
Are single fares available? Single journey tickets are available on most cruises, a single fare is 70% of the return fare. These are available to purchase onboard the ship on the day of sail.
What is the Company policy if a sailing is cancelled due to the weather? If Waverley Excursions have cancelled the sailing we can offer passengers the opportunity to use their ticket on any other sailing - during this season or the next - up to any value, even if your new cruise is more expensive than the one you had booked for. Customers can also obtain a full refund by returning their unused tickets to the original point of purchase or post to Waverley Terminal, Anderston Quay, Glasgow G3 8HA.
What if I cannot make a sailing I have already booked for? No refunds can be issued for sailings that actually take place. We can transfer the value of your unused ticket onto any other sailing or a issue credit note which can be redeemed against tickets for a future sail. Credit Notes are valid for the season in which they are issued.
Is there somewhere aboard to get a meal or snack? Both Waverley & Balmoral have a self-service restaurant on board which can offer passengers everything from sandwiches, snacks & afternoon tea to a full 3-course meal. Hot food is available throughout the day. Both vessels also have two fully licensed Bars and Waverley has an additional Tearoom serving refreshments throughout our sailings.
