In a magnificent mountainside setting on the Cowal Peninsula lies Benmore, an enchanting Garden steeped in history and surrounded by dramatic scenery. Benmore's 120 acres boast over 300 species of rhododendron; Bhutanese and Chilean plantings and a spectacular avenue of Giant Redwoods. Another highlight is the avenue of Giant Sequoias planted in 1863 several of which are now more than 45 metres tall.
The Gardens are located 7 miles north of Dunoon on the Cowal Peninsula. West Coast Motors operate a regular bus service daily from Dunoon Ferry Terminal to the Gardens.
